The first version of moFLow borns in March 2008. It was developed in ActionScript 3 with Adobe Flash CS3. One year later I decided to renew the code (particularly the engine and some key features) with Adobe Flex. Today the second version is ready to say "Hello World!" with some new amazing features! Follow me!
Sure, is possible to find hundred and hundred of Coverflows on the net, in many programming languages (ie. JavaScript, ActionScript, Java) but no one of they has the same features of moFLow (that I know.
Contact me if I am wrong). This is what moFLow does:
- Totally customized through a XML configuration file
- Possibility to put into the coverflow various kind of contents as: photos, transparents PNG, text, FLV videos, MP3
- Freedom to choose an URL and open it by double-click on a cover. (Nb. Every cover can have an ID attached to your URL)
- Your MP3s will be accompanied by annexes fantastic video effects synchronized with the sound produced
- Every cover have a title, a sub-title and an optional description
- The user can navigate the coverflow clicking on the covers, through a slider or using keyboard arrows (this last method will be available soon)
- Totally customizable GUI
- and ...
- That's all folks ... for now! ;-)
moFLow is absolutely in step with the times and technology. Thanks to Papervision3D and Flash Player 10, moFLow can obtains fantastics results. On newer computers it is possible to exploit all theirs capabilities through "Microsoft DirectX 9.0" (and 10) on Windows XP SP2 and Vista or through OpenGL on systems *nix-like.
As mentioned above "moFLow" gets all his "vital parameters" from a XML configuration file. This file, obviously, can be dynamic or static. In the case of dynamic file it's ready a PHP script that returns a well formatted XML file. Thanks to the modular structure of moFLow you can totally customize the GUI and put it everywhere you want. Wonderful, nope!? ;-)
